Rajasthan Royals’ mentor and the former Indian head coach helped with his coaching to lift India’s 2nd T20i World Cup Trophy in 2024 after the first Title of the year 2007. Injured Rahul Dravid Reports To Camp Despite Being Injured

A video posted by the Rajasthan Royals on their social media handle showed Rahul arriving at Rajisthan’s training camp in Jaipur. While his left leg was placed in a medical walking boot, he still didn’t stop himself from involving in the practice session with the team. He had come, at first, in a golf cart but had transitioned to crutches to get around and went over to talk to the players. He was spotted shaking hands, mentoring upcoming players like Riyan Parag, and engaging with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who asked the veteran about batting while practicing shadow shots.

Rahul, who was sitting with his crutches beside him, diligently studied the entire training session, showing his interest even after being unable to participate in it physically. His injury was confirmed by Rajasthan Royals in an official post on ‘X’, which mentioned, “Head Coach Rahul Dravid, who picked up an injury while playing cricket in Bangalore, is recovering well and will join us today in Jaipur.

Rahul Dravid suffered the injury while playing for the Vijaya Cricket Club in the Group I, Division 2 semifinal of the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield tournament conducted by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Better than his own 16-year-old son, Anvay trickled Rahul. Rahul had strained a calf muscle into his innings but still continued his game in that match. He added a gritty 43 off 66 deliveries in a vital fourth-wicket stand with Anvay before his side fell short in the match.

Earlier in the tournament, he made headlines for returning to club cricket after a gap of 13 years. In his first game, he scored 10 runs, while his son scored a 60-ball 58. During the semifinal of the tournament, Rahul Dravid went through the discomfort and still managed to put on a 43-run partnership before he was forced to leave the field because of his condition, and his fighting quality shows his determination towards the game.
