Everything about The ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Squads, Schedule & Broadcasting Details

Kolkata 16/02/2025- The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to return after eight years by bringing together eight of the world’s top ODI teams for a thrilling competition. This edition will be hosted in Pakistan, and India’s matches are scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE. As defending champions, Pakistan will aim to retain their title, while other teams will look to snatch the title from them. The tournament will start on 19th February 2025, with the first match will be held at Karachi’s National Stadium, where Pakistan will be facing New Zealand.

This edition of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is no less than any World Cup tournament. This tournament is getting attention from across the world and is covered by media worldwide. It will be interesting to see how long the hosting nation ‘Pakistan’ can stay in the tournament race with their team, which always lacks cooperation and coordination on and off the field. India and Australia are probably the top two contenders for this trophy. These two teams were also the finalists of the last 50 overs World Cup held in India last year. So let’s see who takes this trophy from Pakistan or if Pakistan can protect their title in this edition, which is really tough to say.

The top eight ODI teams will be playing in this ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in which eight teams are divided into two groups (Group A & Group B). This tournament is structured by using the round-robin pattern where one team will play three matches (One against each team of the group) and the top two teams of the leaderboard from each group will be selected for the semi-finals. Each team will play three matches against all other group teams at the group-stage matches, and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

The first semi-final will take place on 4th March in Dubai, and the second semi-final will be played on 5th March in Lahore. The final match will be held on 9th March 2025 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, unless India qualifies for the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. If India qualifies for the finals of the tournament, then in that case the final will be played in Dubai, UAE.
